This time of night, the shrouded streets of Slateport's outskirts play host only to Pokemon and those whose business was best conducted in the shadows. Gavin has nothing to fear from the night, nor from those who cloak themselves beneath it. He prowls beneath the moon with his Lycanroc at his side, the werewolf's fur bristling along its spine in a preemptive deterrent for all but the boldest of foe.[break][break]

Gavin pauses in his stride as a growl ripples in the canine's throat, his sharp amber eyes scanning the darkened alleys for threat.

Eyes gleam in the darkness of an alleyway, a Nidorino lowering its head in preparation to charge. Gavin's lip twitches.[break][break]

"Well spotted."[break][break]

A simple hand signal incites the werewolf to attack in whatever way it deemed fit. Snarling, the savage wolf lunges toward its prey and slams into it — Nidorino's head smashes into its chest and it LASHES OUT in return, curling its claws for a FIERY PUNCH. They clash in a messy display of fur, claws, teeth; when the chaos dies down, Gavin's Pokemon emerges victorious against the poison-type.[break][break]

As it's been taught, it returns to his side, blood dripping from its jaws.[break][break]

They move on.

Gavin pins a Toxel beneath his stare, watching the as the small Pokemon crawls across the mouth of an alley. They were native to Galar. It's been a while since the embargo's been lifted between Hoenn and his homeland, but Gavin finds himself forgetting at times.[break][break]

He almost feels bad about picking on a baby Pokemon. Almost.[break][break]

A sharp whistle signals his Lycanroc, and the werewolf pounces on its prey. Fittingly, the future 'Punk Pokemon' releases a screech resembling a harsh metal sound... only to fall beneath the claws of its adversary as Lycanroc LASHES OUT in retaliation. Its slavering jaws clamp around the baby's scruff, head shaking from side to side like a persian with a caught bird.[break][break]

"Drop it," Gavin orders, and taps the Toxel with a ball.
